Po-Ching Chou’s practice centers on kinetic installation, exploring the relationships between perception, frequency, and collective experience through the integration of light, sound, and movement.
Rather than treating sound as music, he approaches it as a physical and perceptual phenomenon—one that exists in the form of frequency, vibration, and temporal residue. In his works, sound is often not presented directly, but perceived through the traces left by movement, light, and mechanical systems in operation. These elements interact with visual and spatial conditions to generate a sense of vitality that resembles an organic, living system.
Collective emotion, techno-nature, and perceptual consciousness are recurring themes in his practice. Through a gentle and restrained narrative approach, his works transform private experiences into shared, perceptible states, allowing individual sensations to resonate within a collective field.
