Whisper of Images and Shadows
Whisper of Images and Shadows
Whisper of Images and Shadows is an installation centered on dynamic systems and the interference between movement and light. Through multiple circular structures operating at low frequencies with programmed phase differences, the work constructs a spatial field in which individual units remain independent yet continuously interact. As light travels along the edges of the rotating rings, overlaps, misalignments, and reflections generate constantly shifting visual afterimages. These variations do not aim to construct a narrative; rather, they unfold through controlled parameters, situating the overall condition between stillness and action. The work examines whether asynchronous motion and subtle frequency offsets, when coexisting within a shared space, can be perceived as intentional or emotional. In the absence of language or sound, can a kinetic system be interpreted as engaging in communication? The “whisper” in this work does not originate from sound. It emerges from the viewer’s perceptual projection when confronted with low-intensity dynamic interference. By employing minimal movement and light variation, the installation tests how human perception constructs relational meaning and anthropomorphic qualities from non-living systems.
